How do we even begin to say, "Thank you"?

Like many, on Remembrance Day, I try to reflect a little more on what freedom means to me, and pay tribute to the brave military who served, and continue to serve our country.

I think at times it is too easy for us to take our freedoms for granted, to become desensitized to the horrors of war that many countries still face. Canada is one of the greatest countries on this planet and I feel so fortunate to have been born here, to enjoy a life of freedom.

As thousands gathered today in Ottawa, one of the largest crowds in recent history, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, we remember the 117,000 Canadians who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom we enjoy today.

I mean, how do you even begin to say thank you, for such a gift? Thanks you

I think it is important we remember their sacrifice, we cannot forget; however perhaps the best way to say thank you is for each of us, young or old, male or female, to live a full life, doing the things that many throughout the world only dream of.

Whether that be getting a post-secondary education, freely speaking your mind, starting your own business, travelling the world, running in the next election, the simple ability to choose the life you want to lead…we owe them that.

Lest we forget.
